N ot just one, but three glowing new press features – in Condé Nast Traveller, Country Life and in Virtuoso, The Magazine – highlight Islas Secas’s raw natural beauty.

Inside the Secret Archipelago taking Sea Conservation Seriously

Condé Nast Traveller writer Layla Quaedvlieg describes Islas Secas as “the secret island taking sea conservation seriously,” and we couldn’t be more proud. Finding calm moments during the green season, Layla talks of how a “massage coincided with a downpour of rain, and the soothing patter left no need for background music,” while she was equally dazzled when “supper at the beachfront Terraza restaurant was accompanied by a mesmerising lightning display, and we absorbed the island views from a new, ethereal lens of intermittent flashes.”

“An ever-evolving, ever-improving mindset is noticeable, from the tonnes of plastic collected each month in staff beach clear-ups to the newly erected research station, nicknamed the ‘floating casita’, which hosts visiting university students for marine research.“

Nature – Above and Below the Water

Writer Justin Paul was similarly enamored by nature in his feature that ran over five pages in Virtuoso, The Magazine, accompanied by inspiring photography captured by Texas-based photographer Korena Bolding. Paul talks of how “nature – above and below the water – reigns at a private-island resort in Panama.”

Justin also noticed how our staff are the lynchpin to every experience, from his yacht captain predicting the onset of a storm to the exact minute, or his morning delivery of an oat milk latte to his Casita, to the team curating a tropical-fantasy beach day.

Staying during tuna season, Justin made the most of our island flavours. He talks with reverence about a welcoming plate of sashimi, plus “a daily parade of tataki, tartare and seared-tuna salad,” and was particularly taken by a hands-on ceviche-making lesson on a deserted island.

Winter Sun

Writer Mark Hedges from Country Life enthralled his rural readers with fishing escapades – although it was the islands’ ravishing beauty that won him over. “Nature was left alone and, as she tends to do, continued creating her own paradise of azure seas and emerald hills filled with dazzling hummingbirds.”

Mark was also impressed by Islas Secas’ island design. He confesses to being awestruck by “the buildings made of hardwood, (which) are full of craftsmanship and exquisite detail. It is surprising that such design elegance could appear in such a remote place, but absolutely no expense has been spared.”

“A private island paradise – so special. It is the t, but with more heft and wonder.“
