We are privileged to be a part of the local Chiriquí community.
As part of the local Panamanian community, we are pleased to be able to support local employment, capacity building and local sourcing, as well as assist with education, conservation and development initiatives. From engaging school children on field trips led by visiting scientists, to funding local infrastructure projects with like-minded organizations, our aim is to uplift surrounding communities.

Local Sourcing Practices
We are continually seeking sustainable, ethical providers of goods and services within the Gulf of Chiriquí. Not only does this keep our supply chains as short and ‘green’ as possible, thereby minimizing our environmental impact, but it also provides important economic opportunities for locals beyond our resort employees, which in turn fosters healthier communities.
Community Development Projects
Islas Secas directly supports community education and development projects, ensuring that our blueprint for sustainable tourism has a positive impact, both today and in the future. Programs supported by us include community projects that provide food, medicine, and housing to those in need, as well as supporting infrastructure repair and sponsoring local festivals.
A Commitment toPanamanian Culture
The Gulf of Chiriquí has long been home to indigenous peoples, and Islas Secas is dedicated to honoring those who stewarded these lands before us, while celebrating living Panamanian culture. This includes everything from the design of our Casitas to our team of chefs’ creative takes on Panamanian cuisine.
