Scuba Diving in Panama

Our extraordinary variety of marine life offers some of the best scuba diving in Panama.
The richness of the Gulf of Chiriquí is nothing short of jaw dropping. Nutrient-rich upwells around Islas Secas attract a mesmerizing variety of marine life, from manta rays, marlin, whale sharks and sailfish, to vibrant schools of butterflyfish, grouper, parrot fish and angelfish flit. Hawksbill and green turtles meander by, white-tipped reef sharks zip around the seamounts and during whale season, large numbers of humpback whales can be heard singing to each other. It’s an exciting Marine Safari like nowhere else on the planet.

Scuba Dive in Panama – Any Time, Any Season
While the dry season, from December through April, offers the best visibility and water conditions, the green season (June through October) is when we’re visited by migrating humpback whales, who come to calve in our calm waters.
We’re not permitted to dive with whales, but we can certainly see them from our whale-watching boat trips and hear their enchanting song beneath the waves. In April, you might get the chance to see migrating whale sharks, while a scuba dive to Coiba National Park offers many unique dive sites in protected surroundings.
