F rom Seabobbing over coral reefs to playing nature bingo in the rainforest, adventure-seekers big and small will be spoilt for choice

1. Wildlife-spotting (made easy)

Did you know that we’re located in one of the most biodiverse places on the planet? That means you won’t even have to leave the private terrace of your casita to spot fascinating wildlife, from black iguanas sunning themselves and garden emerald hummingbirds flitting amongst the lush plants, to magnificent frigatebirds soaring out over the sea – where, between May and October, you can spot humpback whales and their calves.

2. Hit the Water

There are so many ways of exploring the extraordinary underwater world of our archipelago. Littles ones will love learning how to snorkel and spot colorful parrot fish, meandering turtles and mysterious moray eels, or even try scuba diving with our expert instructors and get certified, too. Head out together and discover the mangroves by kayak, or teach the children how to cast a line on a fishing expedition. Older children and teens will love racing across the waves by E-foil, or zipping over the reef by Seabob.

3. Where the Wild Things Are

Nature hikes in the primeval rainforest that covers our islands offer the chance for adventurous hiking and getting up close and personal with our rich variety of flora and fauna. Watch natural history in action, spot endemic birds, marvel at the lush vegetation – and you might even pass a (perfectly safe) boa constrictor sunning itself on the rocks.

4. Birds galore

There are few places in the world offering our fascinating variety of tropical and marine birdlife, with over 114 species to spot. Our expert guides will show your children how to use binoculars and get them excited about a boat trip over to Isla Coco for thrilling views of one of Panama’s largest colonies of soaring frigatebirds. They can add their sights to eBird, contributing to the largest citizen science program in the world. Who knew learning on holiday could be this much fun?

5. On the Beach

This is a beach day, but not as you know it… We’ll take your whole family over to Pargo Island for a truly private island experience. From beach games and nature hikes, to secluded snorkeling and a beach picnic, you’ll have the whole place to yourselves. And to round things off, you can all get involved with a ceviche-making session, learning how to prepare the catch-of-the-hour right there on the sand.

6. Cultural Immersion

We’re incredibly proud of our Panamanian heritage and love passing on that knowledge to our younger guests. Kids can learn some Spanish phrases or find out how to make dyes the local way, using plants and 100% natural ingredients. Or they can make necklaces from coral while learning more about the traditions of our local Chiriquí community.

7. Out and About

These aren’t just excursions: they’re immersive adventures that you’ll all remember for years to come. Join Beny, our Conservation Manager, to go whale watching or on an adventure cruise around the islands, spotting frigatebirds, boobies, and dolphins, or head further afield to experience the world-beating marine life of Coiba National Park. You’ll all come away with a new sense of purpose and a passion for the natural world.
